Readers are Going "Nuts" for the Top 5 Recalled Ads in Men’s Magazines
Shoes, watches, sweaters and... pistachios resonate with readers: Can a little green nut compete for print ad recall with fashion heavyweights like Gucci, Bruno Magli and Breitling watches? When aligned with fitness and featured alongside an over-muscled male model it certainly can, as evidenced by data from GfK MRI’s Starch Advertising Research from October 2017 issues. With a Noted score of 71 percent among survey respondents, The Wonderful Nut one-pager in Men’s Health finished well behind the #1 ad—a combo effort from Gap and GQ magazine that scored 88 percent. But it was in close proximity to ads for Gucci Apparel in Esquire (77 percent), Breitling’s Avenger Hurricane watches in Men’s Health (74 percent) and Bruno Magli shoes in Maxim (73 percent).
