Folio: In Sales and Marketing Salaries, Gender Inequality Remains a Major Issue
Greg Dool reports: "our annual salary survey looks at compensation levels for publishers, account executives, and marketing directors... male respondents who self-identified as publishers — generally the highest non-executive sales and marketing role within a media company that hasn't done away with the title — out-earned their female counterparts by 41 percent in 2016. The median reported salary for male account executives, who earn considerably less than publishers, was 18 percent higher than for female account execs. And among marketing directors, males out-earned females by 27 percent."

The association calls on the Postal Regulatory Commission to "protect captive users of the Postal Service" by maintaining its inflation-based rate cap. "On the one hand, USPS assiduously guards the mail and mailbox monopolies that federal law guarantees, protecting it from the competitive market forces that private industry has had to withstand," said Linda Thomas Brooks, MPA president and CEO, in a statement. "But at the same time, USPS seeks unfettered pricing freedom, with only minimal regulatory oversight."
