Google Agrees to YouTube Metrics Audit to Ease Advertisers’ Concerns
Third party data collection partnerships will be vetted to boost marketers’ confidence in ad viewing measurements: Alphabet Inc.’s Google is committing to a series of audits for its web video powerhouse YouTube by the ad industry’s measurements watchdog, the Media Rating Council. Less than two weeks ago, Facebook also announced it had agreed to have some of its ad metrics audited by the MRC.

Christmas, commerce and the election that won’t end drove December growth: " holiday shopping is actually paying off for some magazine media brands that have been accelerating their use of affiliate links in gift guides. Increasingly, magazine media brands are measuring their digital success less in raw audience metrics than in revenue and conversions off of that traffic. People (-26.1% web, +2.9% mobile, +68.4% video YoY) and Entertainment Weekly (-25.6% web, -7.9% mobile, +19.6% video) “grew digital e-commerce 79% month-over-month in December 2016, and showed a 1,700% increase over December 2015, driven largely by our affiliate content effort,” digital editorial director, Will Lee, tells min."
