Julia Cosgrove is the vice president and editor in chief of AFAR, the critically acclaimed media brand that inspires, guides and enables travelers to have deeper, richer and more fulfilling experiences. In her role, Cosgrove oversees content across print, digital and events. Under Cosgrove’s leadership, AFAR has received two National Magazine Award nominations for general excellence and website. Cosgrove has been a writer and editor at media companies big and small, including Time Out and the Meredith Corporation. Prior to joining AFAR, she served as the deputy editor of the DIY design magazine ReadyMade when it was a finalist for a National Magazine Award in general excellence. She was part of the original launch team behind Time Out New York Kids, and she has also worked at BusinessWeek and the New York Daily News. A graduate of Barnard College, Julia has taught magazine writing and design at the Design School at Stanford University.
