NEW YORK, NY – February 1, 2017 – Up-and-coming leaders in the magazine media industry will convene for the first-ever ASME Next and MPA Next Conference at the Time Inc. Headquarters on February 7, 2017 from 4pm – 7pm.  Timed to coincide with the industry's signature events, the Ellie Awards and the American Magazine Media Conference, the conference will provide first-hand advice to help young magazine media professionals move ahead.

“The Next Conference is a great opportunity for our industry’s future leaders to learn from the best in the business,” said Linda Thomas Brooks, president and CEO, MPA –The Association of Magazine Media. “We designed this event to give young talent the tools and insight they need to thrive while also discussing topical issues in the media ecosystem.”  

Program highlights include:

  • Rich Battista, president and CEO of Time Inc., will provide a snapshot of the magazine media industry and share his insights on the state of the business.
  • Vanity Fair’s Jon Kelly, TIME’s Sam Jacobs,’s Amy Odell and Teen Vogue’s Phillip Picardi will discuss the challenges facing magazine journalists in the Trump era in a panel moderated by New York Magazine’s David Haskell
  • Moderated by Eliot Kaplan, vice president of talent acquisition at Hearst Magazines, People’s Kate Coyne, Vogue’s Jon Gluck, Cosmopolitan’s Danielle McNally and and’s Amanda Wolfe will reflect on their own careers to offer advice on climbing the ladder in the magazine media industry.
