Glamour Launches Month Long Series of Custom Google+ Hangouts

“Glamour on Google” Hangout Series Incorporates Advertisers’
Product and Brand Integration

NEW YORK, April 8, 2013Glamour is launching "Glamour on Google," a month long series of custom Hangouts on Google+ featuring the magazine’s advertisers and editors, high-profile bloggers, celebrity stylists, musicians, and comedians. Everyone from the Black Eyed Peas to the Dalai Lama to President Obama has used Google+ Hangouts to connect with audiences, and now "Glamour on Google," beginning April 10, will incorporate product and brand integration from nine of the advertisers in Glamour’s May issue.

“Our advertisers come to us looking for innovative ways to get their brands in front of consumers, but also seeking original content they can disseminate through their social media channels. ‘Glamour on Google’ is that creative solution,” said Bill Wackermann, EVP/Publisher of Glamour

The Glamour-curated content for the Hangout series ranges from beauty how-tos and shopping inspiration to live music, insider tips, and more. Comedy duo Garfunkel & Oates will kick off the series with a musical performance, and another Hangout will include a DIY hair accessories demo with Erica Domesek of the popular blog and book P.S.- I Made This.

Once the Hangouts air live to Glamour’s 1.5 million Google+ followers, the Hangouts will be uploaded to Glamour’s YouTube channel as well as advertisers’ websites and social media channels. Some of the Hangouts will be open for readers to log in and participate using the hashtag #GLAMOURhangouts, while others will be closed, allowing readers to watch and comment. This project was created with the help of Wildfire, Google's social marketing platform.
