August Home Publishing

Don Peschke founded August Home Publishing in 1978 with its first magazine, Woodsmith. Since then, Peschke has served as the publisher for the launch of ShopNotes, Cuisine at Home, Garden Gate and My Home My Style. These magazines contain no advertising and have a robust online presence.

In 2005, August Home launched a series of ground-breaking softcover book titles intended for high-price-point newsstand distribution. In 2006, August Home began production on the Woodsmith Shop TV show, airing nationwide on public TV stations. August Home has created proprietary software for iPad and web digital magazine versions, and is producing weekly video editions.
