Coordinating and Digital Editor at American Road Magazine

American Road magazine seeks a Coordinating and Digital Editor to manage the production schedule and the magazine’s digital communications (social media, website, e-mail communications to consumers, and digital archive) in support of our mission and brand. The individual will play a vital role on a small team that produces the quarterly, award-winning magazine. The successful candidate will drive our digital efforts and manage the production schedule of the print edition. This position showcases the candidate's experience in reporting, writing, and editing.

Desired attributes:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, (English or related field), with at least three years of experience working in web publishing, production, or writing and managing digital content.
  • Prowess with social media—a key in our continuing effort to successfully engage a sophisticated audience and grow our online following.
  • Solid writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for proofreading, design, and visuals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to inspire others to do the same.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • A collaborative approach demonstrated through teamwork and communication.
  • Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat), Content Management Systems (Wordpress, Dropbox), and project management systems (ASANA).
  • Experience working with photography and print magazines.
  • Strong communication skills.

This is a telecommute position. Freelance positions will also be considered.
