Mark Jannot is a story editor at The New York Times Magazine. His 30-year career has featured tours at the helm of such iconic brands as Popular Science, Audubon, Popular Photography, and Reader’s Digest’s enthusiast titles; the launches of National Geographic Adventure and Science Illustrated; and a stint as President of the American Society of Magazine Editors. He led the creative team on the first-ever custom-built iPad magazine edition, Popular Science+, which became the basis for the innovative Mag+ tablet publishing platform. He led the development and launch of PPX: The PopSci Predictions Exchange, an online market in which thousands of traders collectively predicted the future by buying and selling shares in science- and tech-related propositions. In all, magazines under Jannot’s editorial oversight have been named finalist for 19 National Magazine Awards, winning 7.
