American Society of Magazine Editors

Features Editor at Entertainment Weekly

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY is looking for a senior features editor to conceptualize, assign and edit long-form stories, feature packages, and tentpole issues. We're looking for someone who has fresh thinking about how to present and package features, and big ideas (and experience) for bringing stories to life across platforms. The ideal candidate will be an obsessive consumer of pop culture, though experience covering entertainment isn't a prerequisite. This person must be a natural-born brainstormer, but also incredibly organized and able to shepherd multiple projects from conception to production (which means working with staff writers, photo and design). This editor will be required to manage ongoing projects and top edit additional sections of the magazine while working closely with staff and contributors. Key Responsibilities: *Commission, edit and oversee major feature packages and special issues *Work collaboratively with staff writers, designers and photo editors – while on deadline *Reimagine and manage how print features and packages live in digital, social, and mobile platforms Skills and experience: *7-10 years of editorial experience *Experience managing writers and editors *Ability to think visually and package content in creative and bold ways *Proven track record of compelling storytelling in a multimedia environment
