Executive Editor at Men's Health

The executive editor of Men's Health magazine runs our Pennsylvania office and oversees the bulk of the magazine's production. The executive editor is a crucial member of the senior leadership team, from overseeing weekly meetings in the PA office to guiding the story selection process to working to educate and improve writers and editors.

He or she is tasked with managing senior level team members and helping to plot strategy and oversee execution for many of the brand's most ambitious initiatives, from brand-wide multi-platform pushes to single-topic issues and beyond.

Qualifications:

  • A keen eye for prose and understanding of the Men's Health tone
  • Experience managing mid- to large-size editorial staffs
  • Skill editing science- and service-based reporting
  • A collaborative spirit but also a critical eye for new and fresh stories
  • A solid roster of writers and/or the ability to divine new talent from the journalism landscape
  • A practiced hand for magazine packaging skills
  • Knowledge of the magazine landscape at large--including magazines beyond the competition
  • A diplomatic approach to guiding the art, photo, and fashion teams
