Executive Assistant to the Editor in Chief of GQ


The Executive Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for providing administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief of GQ and providing support for the editorial staff at large when needed.


General responsibilities include:

  • Answering calls for Editor-in-Chief and taking accurate and timely notes to assist the follow up process
  • Coordinating and supporting the Editor-in-Chief’s event schedule
  • Managing schedules, communications, and expenses for the department as necessary
  • Booking all aspects of travel
  • Assisting the Managing Editor with projects that heavily involve the Editor-in-Chief
  • Partnering with HR and the Managing Editor to onboard new employees
  • Writing and contributing to the magazine and website when time allows



  • Past Editorial Intern or Editorial Assistant experience within the publishing sector
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
