Andrew Clurman is the president and chief executive officer of Active Interest Media, a media company comprised of more than 50 internationally renowned print, digital and social media brands, a state-of-the-art video production company, and first-in-class events.

Prior to starting AIM with Chairman Efrem (Skip) Zimbalist,  Clurman was the senior vice president of Time4 Media, a division of Time Warner/AOL. There he served as the president and publisher of Mountain Sports Media, the world’s leading winter sports media company, which included SKI, Skiing, Freeze and Skiing Trade News magazines; Warren Miller Films & Entertainment; and Mountain Sports Press. He was also the president and publisher of TransWorld Publications, which included Transworld Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Motocross, Surf, BMX and Ride magazines.  Under his leadership, these two divisions grew to comprise 15 consumer and trade magazines; an award-winning film and television production unit; and category-leading Internet, book, video and DVD publishing and event marketing businesses.

Clurman began his career in publishing at the Vineyard Gazette newspaper.  He later joined Ziff Davis where he was a sales representative, regional sales manager, marketing director and, finally, publisher of SKI and Skiing magazines. 

Clurman serves as the chairman of the board for the Independent Magazine Publishers of America, a board member of Yankee Publishing, and a University of Colorado Leeds School of Business mentor.
